Roomate has problem with 91 SE-R /Can you help me with ideas?
2 days ago Roomate tells me that he has lost all dash lights and rear tail (running)lights......
All the turn signal and brake lights work. Im not sure what to think of other than the obvious shorted bulbs or easy crap we came up with. The car keeps blowing the fuses for the tails.
I had this same problem with an old prelude back in 91 but cant remember what it was......
TIA

He most likely has a short some where. Tell him to trace back and take out anything he has installed and restore any wiring back go factory.
See that is the problem there is nothing aftermarket in there. The car is completly stock down to the tires.
Look for wires shorted to ground somewhere. With a wiring diagram for that car you can look for all those things that are screwing up, look for what parts of the circuits are shared or routed together.
Somewhere there's a wire with insulation rubbed off, sometimes it touches ground & blows a fuse. Might be a real PITA to find it...

don't tell me i'm a dumb *** but it worked. I had a short with the wires to my deck so what i did was instead of using fuses i put a wire in there so it won't blow and then the wire behind the deck started to smoke cause it was melting the rubber so i found it and fixed it. Maybe that will work? I don't know?
