I heard that if you align the "key" with the arrow on the block that that is TDC is this true? The motor is out of the car also..

How can I time it then with the crank pulley off the motor?

 

get yourself a crank pulley or do you want to run the risk of throwing something because the timing was off more than 12 degrees.

 

I got a crank pulley but there are no timing marks on it, that is why I am asking this question... thanks.

 

turn the crank until your cam gear marks are pointing at each other like this, they should be exactly even, and then the the aarows should be pointing up. when you get this car back in you need to go get a timing gun.
