Default window anti-theft tab

Last weekend my friends 94 accord sedan was almost stolen. Luckily a fuse blew in the theifs haste and the car would not start.

It looks like they just pried the drivers side window out of the track. I know some hondas have tabs to hold the window in. Should this 94 have one? If not could I install one?

any pointers guys? thanks

btw he is now shopping for an alarm

If they want, they'll get it one way or another. A good, solid alarm is one of your better options...

Isn't that the sad truth. Not to mention that any good Honda theif probably frequents Honda-Tech. Grr.

We've had a few cars come in for dash repair after having their alarms stolen. Has anyone else seen this?

It's more like a please steal me tab; theives just pry it up before they pull the window out. That's the way my 94 Accord was broken into twice. You would think that Honda would be smart enough to make the window run all the way up into the window frame.

Get a good alarm system.

Thanks for the replys guys.

He is going to get an alarm. I was just wondering if he should get the tabs also. But from what I hear it sounds like a resounding "don't bother".

Maybe a fuel pump cutoff switch would be better.

like stew said..if they want it bad enough, consider it's gone.
full cover insurance is your best friend

the irony of modding a car..
spend money on mod, getting more and more part, making it fast,
things break, not covered by warranty, fixed it, cop give you ticket,
haterz scratch your car, have it painted/fixed, stolen.

I hear what you guys are saying about if they want it bad enough. Luckily for my friend I think it was just bad luck. Not that it couldn't happen again tommorow. But it was at a movie theater and the car is completelty stock, except for a dent.

While were on alarms. What are good features, prices, brands?

Thanks again
