What is the source of "Type R"?
Aren't there other make and model cars that have "Type R" versions, and if so, could anyone name a few?... To me, it seems that here in the US, whenever someone says "Type R", an Integra is assumed; is this the only 'R in the US?
And what/when was the first "Type R"?
TIA.

Mazda in Japan makes a RX7 Type R and Type RZ, The RZ is very similar in colors and style. It has Red Recaro's Black interior with lots of red stitching etc. and I believe the main color of the car is White. I will see if I still have the link and pics of it at my house.

I was always partial to the 850 T5R Wagon in black with gunmetal wheels.
Yellow 850 R parked next to the PY Type R... Gunmetal everywhere!
But...17" tires are a bit more than the 15" tires

-who would give his first born to find a zero mile yellow 850 R.

The only other other company outside of Japan that uses "Type" is Jaguar.
"Type" for the most part is a Japanese thing. Ever watch japanimation
they call all thier robot characters "type zero" or something like that.
In NA Honda pretty much owns the "Type" naming convention. and they're milking it now with all the type-s version of models.

What about the Buick Regal T-Type of the mid 80s? With its venerable 3.8 liter turbo V6 (as well as serving as the base for the Grand National and GNX), it was pretty cool (ahem) in its time.
