Bad idea:drive through car wash w/antenna up
today i drove through a drive through car wash
because i was in a hurry and wanted my car to look good. usually i hand wash it. when i got home i heard the antenna making alot of noise when i turned off the car. i then noticed my antenna was bent to almost a 90 degree angle. i was thinking of a s200 antenna swap. anyone know how much and if u can diy?

small piece of advice...dont use drive through car washes period. i made that mistake last year. i was on my way to work on a friday afternoon and i just wanted my car looking good for the weekend, and about half a minute into it, i hear a creaking in my hatch. i look back, and the glass in my hatch shatters in front of my eyes. the little strings had caught on the rear wiper and pulled it til the glass shattered and the latch was messed up. $3000 in damages, but thankfully, the insurance covered it without raising my rates. i hand wash now
any one who cares the smallest bit aboutthere car wont torture it in a drive thru car wash...i dont even use the self high pressure washes anymore...it blew a spot of my clear coat right of and caused other areas to lift up and chip...
I went through one of those washers for the first time and it ripped off my s2k antenna...blah never doing that again, just do a search on it in archived, there are a million articles on where to get the pieces and how to do it...
