Headwork and Smog, will it work?
I've always wanted to get my head port/polished, but one of the biggest things holding me back is smog. Once the head is ported, theres no going back. As opposed with cams/pistons, you can always swap em back. Is it possible to pass smog with a fully ported and polished gsr head with stock cams?
Or another idea i was thinking of was to just get a spare head, port/polish it and when it comes time for me to smog, i could just swap heads. However, that is the more expensive route.

Working at a smog station, I doubt that a p & p will affect your emissions that badly to were you will fail smog. When we do head jobs, we do mild polishing and this hasn't affected emission results negatively.
Unless it's some aggressive porting you're having done, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thats good to hear
Any more input guys? I'd like to hear from more than one person. Perhaps someone who already has a p&p head and has gone through smog.
