LS swap- need HELP!
just got through bolting a 94 LS motor in a 93 del sol. i was told it was a straight plug in. so i did no repinning. we go to fire it up, and the motor just turns over. it doesn't sound like its trying to hit. we put a timing belt on it, could it be out of cam timing. i aligned it like the manuel said. please help
First off, do you have a check engine light? If so, what codes are thrown? As for the timing belt, take the valve cover off, use a 19mm socket with long extension and turn the crank until mark is lined up to TDC. Make sure the dash/line on each cam gear is pointing to each other. If not, then you're probably off a tooth. Fix, and do one full revolution again to verify.
as far as i know, there was no codes. someone else was in the car cranking it. it might be the timing belt, i don't think the side marks were pointing exactly together. i will see if there is any codes and post tommorrow. thanks
i readjusted the timing. its lined up. now its still not starting. i checked the main relay- checked out fine. went and checked fuel pump, pump works but the lead wires to the fuel pump aren't turning the pump on. so i straight wired it. it started to pump but still no starting. so i checked the distributer and didn't get a reading on the primary side. could this be my problem? please help! i need all the input i can get.
if the fuel pump is not turning on and the distributer is not firing. could the ecu need to be repinned? anyone know where to find the ecu pinouts for a 94 LS and a 93 DEL SOL S? i need help or new ideas, i'm all out. thanks
