NHRA Gainesville Sport FWD results?
I talked to Jim Skelly after the E-Town event and they are working on getting real time results for Sport FWD and RWD like all the pro categories or atleast get the results posted on the sight after everything is done.
He is aware that many people wanna know what the competition is doing else where across the nation.

Matt, why not come up for nhra at atco? Either way I will see you in vmp next month, hopefully we will be bug free, buy then. I think vmp will have atleast 5 -10 second cars in the field. Should be nuts.... Jason
If I remember correctly, there were only two cars in the Sport FWD category at Gainesville. Both were from South Florida Performance. The green hatch won, but I don't remember the time. Wasn't close to an 10 or 11 second run though.

Man, like I said up north, competition is higher. I was # 2 @ etown with a 10.75, the # 4 spot was a 11.2. We were all loaded up to come down to gainesville, but I was to sick to make it down spent the whole weekend in bed, went up sunday to atco, with a big sinus headache. Wish we made it down, nhra in 3 weeks will be way harder to get a wally. Jason
Maybe many people don't know about this class....I doubt that though.
In E-Town, there were a couple fast Sport FWD cars, but they did not know about the class...instead they bracket raced.
It was just unorganized.
Im sure the class will grow more as long as the exposure is there.
BTW...Tim....Nice vids on http://www.vwsport.com at the Atco event. Hopefully you are working out the bugs on your car. Wanna see some great numbers @ the NHRA event @ Atco. I will be there to watch on the 8th.

I am not really into NHRA's rules. I would have to add 150 lbs, buy some treaded tires and wheels to replace my skinnys, add an entire exhaust, and the whole current license plate deal is a non starter for me. My vehicle would never pass inspection here in Memphis and if I cant get past it, no current tabs for the license plate. The car was built for the NIRA/NDRA rules structure, and I think I will stay there. Good luck sorting out the new car.

No problem, but if nhra looks at sohc's a little different next year, maybe sohc's will get a weight break of a 100 pounds.I will see you when nopi comes to the virginia, maryland tracks. Jason

Bwah hahaha...only 2 cars at Gianesville,8 at etown, what a joke!!!..if anyone from the NHRA is reading this. You made a big mistake not making this the Street Drag Radial Class like it was suppose to be before some knuckleheads change the rules at the last minute(to allow slicks)..Change it back to drag radials and you'll be filling out 32-64 car fields at every event.

I would live to see an anything goes kind of street tire class.just have a weight min. my car is so in between. i cant run hotrod or street class
the blue si from sfp did pull a 132 trap on saturday... i believe high 10's
that class is a joke the way the rules are setup
only two cars in the street tire class... a supra from stage 6 here in jax and an rx-7 i had never seen before... both had made 10 sec passes sometime in the weekend
however, with ndra in bradenton this weekend with turbo 4... who would really want to run sport fwd in gainesville instead... nonetheless the street tire class(which i heard titan went to bradenton)
hey zexman... heard that you won turbo 4 last weekend... good job... have some questions for you on a zex nitrous setup... pm sent

yeah, sport fwd and turbo 4 are the same **** basically. what sucks is turbo 6 allows fuel cell and turbo 4 doesnt.

I think the Sport fwd class would get more cars if the rules were similiar to idrc's pro-am class. who cares about carpet, some of us drive are cars with no interior, but that's just my opinion.

hehehehe.. i managed to shove mine in there somehow. It was TIGHT! I like NHRA rules.. cuz if you are legit with them you can run anyother sanctioning body. If it were up to me.. my car would have lexan all the way around and have fiberglass doors and a fuel cell. But I want to stay legal.

I don't see what the bitching is about. If you want to race in the class just meet the rules. If you want it bad enough you will make your car legal. It seems once it gets kinda hard or if the rules make it semi-hard for some people everyone crys for it to be changed. Just suck it up and follow the rules. Everyone else in NHRA seems to suck it up and make the rules, why can't the people in sport FWD?
I dunno why on the east coast they only get a few cars in the those classes. Here on the West coast at the rained out season opener the Sport FWD seemed to have a ton of cars in it. Some weren't legal at all (dunno how they passed tech) but I think NHRA is on the right track.
NHRA seemed to make the rules to keep cars in the 10-11sec time range. I personally know of a ton of civics that are daily driven with kids in the car that are fully NHRA sport FWD legal that hit 10's. I also feel that the 2300lbs weight is a great weight since most Honda's can make that weight with some effort.
I personally can't wait till the NHRA events happen out here later this summer/fall. I will try to make every event possible to race in it. Yeah at times I bitch about some stupid rules (IE: full interior panels, with a cage), however I just suck it up since thats how racing has been for 100yrs and I just make do and make the rules work for me.
I personally hope that NHRA starts getting harder on the rules since it appears everyone is trying to bend the rules and/ or just not following the rules at all.
The way I look at it, if I can meet the rules and make my car 100% legal, then anyone else can. Trust me on that. I've been spending month after month making sure I am 100% legal for NHRA, Battle, etc...
