Ordered my 96spec JDM ITR motor from HMO
Steve is a pretty cool guy. I wanted to use credit card for my protection. So yes, i did have a 2.95% charge.
$4600 for itr motor
$225 shipping to residence
$142 charge.
total = $4967.00
paying a little more for better quality = priceless ( better be for that kinda money)

awesome, just a heads up... you'll need to get a usdm wiring harness unless you want to stretch/mod the jdm one. you cant run the obd2 ecu, just get a chipped p28. and unless you are running hondata you will need to wire up a vtec switch. i cant wait to put mine in

98 specs are more expensive. why? newer, 4.7x final drive, jdm4-1 header.
I can still use the p73 ecu.
I have a 93 cx, being painted black, then motor is going in.

hey if i want to put a JDM ITR swap into my EG, what wiring harness do i need? I hear the jdm one is too short so which one do i need?

its a price to pay, but u do get the reliability of a honda which will run pretty much longer than ur tsi, run thirteens all day long possibly a 12 on slicks, get better gas mileage than ur car, and still be able to drive to work or around town or deliver pizza (do any thing) without having to worry about detonation, broken tranny, oil leaks, turbo seals, and the O so ever great crank walk of a dsm.

My friend and I did two jdm itr 97 spec in egs. Got the motors from HMO and it was in perfect condition.. very very clean.
we used the jdm wiring harness it worked fine just have to mod it and switch it to left hand drive.
as for the obd2 p73 ecu just get an obd1-->obd2 wiring harness conversion ..
boomslang.com has one for 124 shipped.. this ran better then a chipped p28 ecu.

You pay the price when you attain higher horsepower levels. You pay the price through reliability with a DSM. I had a Civic at one time and loved it. The thing was that it just didn't have the power that I really wanted and I really didn't want to pay through the nose to get a swap that would only get me mediocre results.
The b18c5 is a great motor don't get me wrong but for $5k it is overpriced and overrated. $3k will get you a great turbo set-up that will, when tuned right, eat any swapped civic alive. The $5k is really going for a name. You pay that much and then you can say "I have an ITR swap in my car."
I know I will get flamed for this but I just have to say this in hopes of deterring future people from spending large amounts of money for mediocrity.

had a turbo civic already......IMHO its not as fun as having the quick throttle response of a NA vehicle. Plus on a car that wasnt meant to be boosted, it sure does blaze down the highway, but u hav to worry about reliability issues and to me the car didnt feel as fun around the twisties as it used to. As for the mediocrity issue, its not how much u pay; its the fun factor and bragging rights. Trust me, im not a biased person towards hondas; ive worked on both imports and domestics from a wide variety.

Yup. I can agree w/ that. I think they treat ITR-motor buyers and the motors themselves with a little more care because of the amount of money they make off of them. When I went down there to buy my '97 ITR motor they gave me all kinds of random small stuff for hardly any extra cost (i.e. a '98 ITR 4-1 header, heatshield, donut, etc.). And my ITR motor looked like it was unused and fresh out of the box from Honda Motor Corp. Japan.
As far as people saying it's too high a price to pay for mediocrity, all I say to that is to each his own. I had a JDM D15B VTEC in my car before my swap, and I know I could easily slapped a turbo setup on there for a less than half the price and put out numbers above 200whp.
But with my swap, I've got all of the little things in ONE shot- LSD, 4-1 header, high compression, short gears (I'd like to see any D-series brag about short gears), etc. I run 13s all day easily and my motor is practically BONE STOCK. The best part about that is it's SOLID and reliable and LOW MAINTENANCE, just like my D15B was.
That's just the route I chose to take, and not because I think B is better than D or the other way around. And I'm not rich or anything, but bottom line is, I'm able to afford an expensive swap without having to worry about how it will affect my more important financial obligations...so who cares? I paid the little bit of extra money for all of those little things, the one-shot deal, and the solidity of my motor.

yeah i have dealt with steve a bunch of times... very cool guy and the more i buy from him the better deals he gives me... they dont have much listed on the site besides swaps but ask him and he will get you what you want and with the best quality and cheapest price around... hmotorsonline gets 2
