Default Pep Boys Lifetime Warranty Axles...?

Ok, so i bought some awhile back, (04/12/02 to be exact!) and i think my passenger side axles is phucked up, it *thumps* driving down the street. i think the cv joints are screwed up, i can't find a rip in the boot but there's a bunch of greese everywhere though. are the warranty legit??? can i just bring it back and get a new one with no questions asked? i'm skeptical of pepgirls, they act like lil girls sometimes...

EDIT:

nice lil image to get attention to this post

Take it back. If they hessitate. Threaten to sue the **** out them. Bring your receipt. They have no reason not to warrant your axel.

hmmm.... i read the lil crap on the bottom and it says:

"normal product wear and tear are not covered"

does that mean i should grind down the splines or try to bend the axles before i bring it back?

you shouldnt have any trouble trying to return it .

if you snapped it in 2 pieces that would be a different story .

LOL! Does it only say that? LIke ONLY THAT? If so ****. You are all good. Take that **** back and tell them that their refurbished **** doesnt hold up what so ever. That the boot is leaking grease like an Iraqi oil field.

Hell tell them you broke them racing... lol after all the warranty doesn't cover "normal wear and tear" Racing and beating are included lol

actually these girls are smarter than u think,

"This warranty does no apply to parts if: installed in vehecles used commercially, for racing or off-road purposes. modified, altered, abused, unreasonably used, improperly installed, or damaged by accident, negligence or misuse"

not like they'll actually ask though, but the corperate people in the company alreaddy thought about it, haha

I have experience with Autozone.

I bought some axles for a friend. Took his old ones, boxed them up. Glued the box shut. drove down to the next town and returned them. LOL

Free sex y0! errr free money/axles! I dont recomend doing this at all. B/c It took me 20 minutes to open the box perfectly so that I could reseal it. Or if you ever plan on shopping there again.

But man. They really cant prove that their axles broke b/c of normal wear and tear (which they prolly did). They are REMANUFACTURED!!! So that **** is gonna fail.... sometime at least.

Take the axle back and warranty it. If they ask what's wrong with it (they won't), tell them it knocks.

I've taken bad axles back to Pep Boys, Autozone, and NAPA and in most cases not only do they not ask questions, they don't even look at the axle you're returning.

Just get your *** down there and return it, otherwise you're the Pepgirl.

well, i got my axles replaced today, and yes, it was FREE! woohoo! woke up early this morning, pull my passenger side axles off, went to pepgirls and went straight to the parts counter. the dude was trying to give me problem though. he was asking all the other workers how to test it anyways, everyone just told him to exchange the parts and he did, presented my recipt, and walked out with a new one

if anyone is interested in these ghetto axles that comes w/ lifetime warrenty, they're only $70 w/ a core exchange!

Is that $70 per side? I have my inner boots leaking on both sides and would like to get those replaced, don't have any symptoms of bad axles yet though. Has anyone had any dealings with http://www.driveshaftshop.com? I'm slightly interested in their axles, but if I could get a working pair for $140 then I may just say screw it.

yea, that's $70 PER SIDE. these are re-build/re-manufactured if it makes any difference, i don't think it really matters though, i mean free replacements!

What is normal wear and tear? There is no set amount of time the axel is supposed to last. It could last you the rest of your life or a week. Theres a lifetime warranty for a reason. Be prepared to see Manny, Moe, and Jack plenty of times.

I bought my axles from napa and they told me I had a lifetime warranty. I have gotten 4 new axles from them for free. Its a good deal and im sure pepboys has the same policy.

no seriously, 70 is about normal price. I have NEVER seen axles for 45, not even reman's w/ core exchange.
