Check out these RacePlates / carbon fiber panels-NEW
I am going to be advertising on HT pretty soon but I thought I'd let you guys check these carbon fiber panels out. I have been very involved with the R&D of these plates.
This is the best looking and best engineered carbon fiber panels you will ever see.
I got sick of seeing crappy looking carbon fiber parts over the past 10 years that have bad clear coat all over the place. You guys know what I'm talking about. We are going to roll out something special in carbon fiber later this year. Something you have never seen before so stay tuned. Until then I would appreciate your input on how these plates look since this is the cosmetic forum. Since they are .060" thick they are great for cutting out custom gauge panels, trim, canards, or whatever you can imagine. Being a racer myself I can think of thousands of parts I could make for a racecar. It comes in a stiff panel and a flexible panel made from 100% carbon cured in an autoclave. Please take a look.
BTW-we don't need to clear coat our parts, they come out looking nearly perfect. That's how good they are!

What products are you going to be offering, or all of them one-off special order products? I noticed the contract with GM, very nice.

Thanks. It has taken two years to develop the vette hood. Right now I can only say it will be a part for an as yet undetermined car and it won't be a one off prototype, but a production part. It's really not the part that is special but the process in which it's created. I will let you all know when I know more. But I guarantee it has never been done and racers will love it.

Yes, using an autoclave is the best part, and it looks like the quality is second to none, much better than the wet setups that I've seen in the market place, please keep us informed.

Thanks. You can cut it with a dremel and a diamond coated cutting wheel easily. Another tool that works great for cutting free-hand circles for gauges is a Dremel tool #9931 which is a tungsten carbide cutting bit. It looks like a christmas tree. Both of those bits are available at home depot or similar stores. I am going to start listing projects on the website to show how it's cut and what things you can make with it.
