One Honda @ Corvair Track Day
One Honda @ Corvair Track Day
This past Friday I elected not to go to the Hyperfest and watch, instead I opted to go to a Track Day with the North East Corvair Council @ Pocono Raceway's East Course.
With the doom and gloom weather forecast only 28 cars showed for the event and thus an open track day was declaired. Lotsa seat time for 170 bucks yeehaa.
Interesting points: Didn't get a wake-up call from the Hotel (never make that mistake again, bought a travel alarm clock this past Sunday), found I had a Snell 90 helmet (autocrossing isn't that strict with this) had brake ghosts, and had my first 4 wheel, off-track, excursion.
I did a write up on nerdsracing.com, but figured I'd spare you all the details unless you were interested:

Corvairs can be great road race cars. great handling and fun to drive. just make sure you break early and not late. unfortunately mine is just a daily driver, but i am in the process of saving up money to build a race vair.
