Default turbo teg.

I got a 97 GSR w/ 130k miles on it.. I want to turbo for daily drive.. i m on a budget of 4000.. if i do all the work myself.. can i rebuild the engine enough to turbo and with the turbo kit can i do it for around 4000?

NO.

kit itself is about 3500 plus what you need they dont include in the kit or what is needed in addition.... tools are extra.... stuff you break etc....

rebuilding your engine will be prolly a grand or so for rods and pistons and then you have labor for rebuilding it and putting in all new bearings and such....

4k is just a START of what your gonna spend....

Yes...

If you do the work yourself you can rebuild the engine for under a grand. You can piece together a junkyard turbo for about 800 or you can piece together used parts for around 2000. Then that will leave you a grand for any extra goodies or problems.
