You did not notice any difference when you installed an exhaust on your type S?
What was the piping size on the Apexi? When I last check there was no apexi exhaust available for the type S and alot of people were just getting the universal muffler and getting custom piping.
If there is an exhaust available then damn, I'm behind on this information. When I instaled my exhaust I noticed some power in the mid-top end range. I have a 2.25 inch piping on my exhaust.

A lot of people on crsx have the n1 and ws. I'm planning on swapping out my Skunk2 for the ws.

intake, exhaust, headers.....are only beneficial if you have some brand new cams.....the I/E/H combo may free up HP that you already have....but gain HP....I don't think so.....get some TODA cams if you want real HP....and a ECU reflash from TODA or HONDATA....well that is if you are going NA........want real WHP boost that bad boy...I miss my TEG

How is freeing up horsepower any different from gaining horsepower? If you dyno your car one way, add an exhaust and the dyno reads 3 or 4 horses higher, I'd say that's a gain of 3-4 hp.

yea- it's the N1 & it has 60mm piping & we have a CAI, it may have gained some top end pull, but nothing tremendously different than before- it sounds damn good- kinda loud though.

YUP...Apex-i makes exhaust systems for the Type S.
I personally have the Magnaflow "special" 4" tip catback system. Magnaflow offers a special deal for clubrsx members only. It was $431 shipped, including tax, to California. Other's who live outside of California got this exhaust for $400 shipped 3 day fed ex express. Nice exhaust for the money. Too bad it's only 2 1/4" OD stainless steel pipping.
And yes, the exhaust does make a noticeable difference. Throttle repsonse is a lot better. It pulls more throughout the power band when compared to stock...late

For me gaining HP by freeing up some little that you have left doesn't justify buying a very expensive exhaust system....an intake, header, and exhaust may free up some and give better throttle response.....but cams are where you "actually" gain HP that is if you go NA.......when I can surpass the 200 crank HP in my final dyno run is where I know I actually gained some HP....that's 30+ HP from the 170 HP base......Greddy is coming out with a great system....maybe that's a better alternative then buying over $1000 in parts that give you a whopping 15HP.....don't quote me literally on that.....all i'm saying it's not worth it in the end.....if you join the darkside you'll never turn back!!!!!!

I think you missed my point entirely. First, I am an advocate of turbo kits as well, and eagerly anticipate GReddy's release of the kit for the EP-3. The point I was trying to make was that any increase in horsepower over the stock figure is considered a gain. I just question why some people say "You're not gaining any power at all, you're merely freeing some up."
If you have more than what you started with, you've gained something. Now let's wait in anticipation for the GReddy kit to come out, so we can all gain some serious power.

I got the tanabe super racing medalion...and i felt a difference...i got power in the mid-to high end........exhuast is all part of what you need to make your car fast....i got a 2.5 inch piping..and i love the way it sounds..and its got that nice sweet tilt to it as well!
