Your Overall Review of Your TYPE S's?
the type s is sweet, but the leather seats crak pretty quickly even if you use leather conditioners & what not. the car is pretty quick & w/ a little work can be very competitive

Damn bro what do the RSX type S's go for in your city? You need to save more money up for a S then you would need for a s2ooo? Damn.
Well all aside I like both cars, haven driven both. The type S is a good car and has alot of potential in the motor. The S2ooo is a race car right out of the box. Good handling and good speed. Both cars have thier pro's and con's, but the only way to decided is to drive both and go from there.
Also if you plan on taking more then one person with you, you may want to consider the type S. Plus with the extra money you save on the s2ooo you can get a type S and get some nice mods. I just got my Tein Flex and the handling is awsome. Well good luck bro.

sorry that was phrased all wrong.....i was going to buy a s2000 orginally, but thought that i'd save alot of money by purchasing a TYPE S.....40 less HP to the crank....is what i'd lose, but save alot in my wallet if i bought a TYPE S......both are 6spd.....and basically both are two seaters.....but the S is 10,000 less......I just don't understand why honda thinks all american drivers want leather seats......arghhh....send us the recarco's
Well I was going to go with an Eibach Pro-Kit / Koni combo with a JDM 22mm rear sway bar...and call it a day.....I've had ground control/illumina setup on my Integra...and thought it was just unnecessary if your whole purpose is daily driver....the stiffer spring rate in the pro-kits and the adjustability of the koni's will do just fine for my taste...and stiffening up the rear end is going to help out alot on just spirited turns.....i think?

Use the money u saved by buying the RSX Type S instead of the S2K n blow those bone stock convertibles away.

Go with the S but I would not recommend the Ice Box yet, as well as the Tanabe Racing Medallion (too loud). Both in general, CAI, Hondata, suspension work, and maybe throw in some new cams and you are good to go.

Fer one thing, I think Honda/Acura made the RSX-S leather is because it's they're top of the line and not only that, it's Acura which is Honda's supposedly luxerious cars. I think leather should be an option in the RSX-S but then again it would depreciate its value therefore more buyers will be attracted to the "cheaper" RSX-S. IMO.
Your set-up sounds good. Why don't you consider Comptech's sway bar/tie bar combo instead of the JDM sway bar? But then again, the JDM is a good bang fer your buck. Just my opinion.

WRX's are nice.....but it's sticker price is 27,000 while the Type S is 23,000.......I'd rather get a 350Z or Lancer EVO in that price range
Actually, I think these cars are quite different.
RSX: Quick, practical, fun, luxurious, great value. Great for commuting and occasional racing.
The rear seats actually are quite useful. You can fit 2 average-height people back there for a couple of hours - it's really not bad. And that's even with a 6'5" driver! The rear hatch/trunk is VERY roomy and useful, and with the rear seats down and the cargo cover removed you can haul a serious amount of stuff. This can be incredibly useful.
The suspension setup on the RSX is a great balance of handling and comfort. I've AutoX'd mine and it was wonderful (to a novice). The biggest weakness here is the stock tires. They beyond suck. Before I got my Falkens I thought I'd have to change my shocks and springs - but with decent tires the suspension is perfect.
The Type-S is also a great highway cruiser - it's quiet and comfortable - but rev it over 6500 and it turns into a rocket, and sounds like it too! I love this duality of the Type-S - and so does my wife!
The value is self-evident. It's tough to get this kind of performance, quality, style and luxury for $22K in any other car.
S2000: Seriously fast, amazing handling, race car. Not very practical, not luxurious. Great for racing and occasional commuting.
When I drove an S2000 recently I was blown away by the handling and I loved the top-end power. This is a serious race car. And that's why I love it - the responsive steering, the tight suspension, the crazy power.
But there's a flipside, of course. The S2000 really does have only two seats, a smallish trunk, and it's not as quiet or smooth on the highway as the RSX. But for this car, that's OK. It's worth it. That's one reason it's a convertible - it's one more part of this car's harmoy. Convertibles are by their nature less refined, less quiet, more visceral and in touch with the soul of driving.
That's what it boils down to - the intended target of each car. The RSX is designed to be a raceable street car - and the S2000, a streetable race car.
Now, of course, if you're modifying these cars extensively, you can make them into whatever you want - that's the beauty of modding a car. But you should still put some thought into where your starting point should be - and what it will take to move it in the direction you want it.
Personally, I've had my Type-S for 15 months now, and it's a great car. However, I've been yearning for rear wheel drive. I feel right now that RWD is where the top-level handling potential lies. I've been a little put off by torque steer - this is my first experience with it, and it's not all that pleasant.
That's why I'm selling my Type-S - so I can move up to a S2000.
