Looking to get into bikes, Need some info..opinions?
Im looking into getting a bike, I'm just wondering whats a good bike to start with?
My friend has an older model im gonna learn how to ride off of but as a first bike, I dont want it to be a beater, I want it to look nice =D but not brand new of course..
Also whats the process of getting a licence for a bike, I haven't really looked into that part.. I was thinking 600/700cc bike... or so.

Mid-late 90s Honda CBR600s F2/F3s are good beginner 600cc sportbikes. Along with 97-up Yamaha YZF600Rs. They're good enough to be happy with for a while, and still look new. They're also not so incredibly powerful and twitchy that you'd get into trouble that easy.
That being said, you can get in trouble on ANY motorcycle. Maturity is key.
If you're under 21, I think most states require that you complete the MSF riders course. Once you complete this and pass, you get a certificate. You take this to the DMV and they give you a motorcycle endorsement on your license.
If you're over 21, then you need to pass an exam at the DMV, and I believe a ricers course similar to your regular driving test, but on a bike, with bike type manuevers.

yea...if youre 16+ u can get a motorcycle license. I know in California if youre under 21 (i think) you have to take the MSF course in order to get your license. If youve never ridden a bike before id recommend the MSF..i just completed it this weekend and you learn a lot and plus you learn on their bikes, so u can trash them or whatever and not worry about it. Good luck man..and ride safe..
