Well after debating for a while on which suspension to purchase the decision came down to either the Tein SS or the Tein Flex. Well by reading the title you can guess which set up I went with..The Tein FLEX!! I got a good deal on the Flex that I could not pass it up. After 3 days I went to the local import store and picked this up.

After making arangments with a fellow H-T member ( Dan) we decided to do the install on saturday, but after all the **** that went on we decided to do the install on sunday to make it easier on both our parts. ( Installing the suspension in the dark on saturday night didn't seem to amusing on either of our parts.LOL)

Well sunday arrived and we were finally set to install the Flex. As I arrive at Dan's house we tried to take off the wheels. Well to my amazment my damn wheel lock was missing
The week before I had acura adjust my glove box because it was loose, well I guess they " forgot" to put the lock back in.
Well we then enlisted the help of Jim at Fry's Fabrications to get the locks off.. This was done in short time. ( thanks Jim for not charging me )

Well after all this we then began to do the install. Here are a few pics of the mess..

At the moment I have the front and rear set at 22. I will keep you guys updated as I test and tune the car more.

How hard was the install on a scale from 1-5? 1 being easy, and 5 being difficult?

Well the install on the rear of the car was a 1, but the front was a little bit more involved. It was around a 2.5. As for ride hieght my car was pretty slammed but I then decided to raise the car a bit. I have about a 2-2.5 inch drop on my S and the handling is great.

Also, does the RSX have the same axle popping out of the hub problem that the EP3 has when doing the front strut?

Holy chit that part sucked! When I installed my Tein SS on the EP nothing was more of a pain in the *** than the axles popping out. I'm glad to hear that I was the only person with this problem.

What I meant at 22, was that I have the stiffness set at full. It's all the way turned to the right. And yes the axle did try to pop out but we were informed about this little problem before hand so we were ready for it. One person to unscrew the bolts while the other person held the axle in place.

i've heard running adjustable shocks at full stiff ...will quickly shorten its life

I do not plan on keeping the setting on this forever, but for the moment it is fun.
I am planning to test and tune my car soon so I have the handling plus the ride for me and my passenger. I am planning to road race my type S soon, so hopefully I can have it tuned by then.

Tein's adjustment range is from 1-15. Running it at 22 clicks will damage the shock (says tein). Personally I have never tried it, but it's a risk I don't want to take.

Well this is actually the first day I have been running them at 22 clicks and the ride is stiff as hell. Like I said, I plan to test and tune then soon for the best handling and ride for the track and road, but for now i'll stay at 22. My friend dan who installed the Tein flex has been running his car at 22 for a long time now with no side effects, so I assume it should be fine for a little while. What setting do you have your Si set on Todd?

looks good i have good sugestion for you in the insde trunk picture. notice the metal plates between the shocks, i met a DC5 owner on the weekend at mosport park to there to see realtime race. he went to home depot got a hollow metal pipe (metal conduit) i believe flatten the end off and attached ito the bracktes with nuts and bolts intant a brace

Yeah those were the ones who were installing my suspension, but after 10 minutes jeff found a beer and left..LOL..Dan was the man for installing the suspension.
It took a little while, but we finally got it all done. I am even closer to competing in the road racing events. All I need now are better tires for my stocks, and a helmet.

I had Skunk2 coilovers in my car before I got the Teins. I no longer need my skunk2's so I am selling them now.

No they will not rust. These have teflon coating to prevent rust. The SS do not come with the teflon coating so they will rust eventually.
