Default B16 & axles & ride height

I have a question for B16 owners.

How many times have you had to replace your axles since doing your swap

I have heard with a lowered Civic with a B16 & Integra axles its quite often due to stress on the inner joint.

I have A Civic STD with a B16A1, GSR wheels, Suspension Techniques 2 inch springs & new KYB struts. I have repalced 1 inner joint last week on the driver side now i have to replace one on the passenger side. Is anyone having the same problems

i'll try to take some pics of my ride height later on today

I have a B16 CRX lowered 1" on GC coilovers. I've only replace the drivers side one about 6 months ago, but it was bad when I got it. Other than that, I haven't had any problems. I don't have my car slammed so I'm sure that helps.

that doesn't look too low, but hey, you never know.

Quick question for you, did you need a camber kit for your drop? My car is dropped 1.2" up front and 1.0" in the back. B16A hatch. My camber is fucked to hell in the front, like embarrassingly bad. VERY obvious to the human eye. My tires have gone from average to bald in one month of this.

Will getting an alignment fix this? I didn't think they could alter camber...

I too have this same problem. I think it's due to my shitty Place racing mount causing the drivers side axle to me at too much of a angle. My boot just riped on a 1 month old drivers side axle and now I back to replacing another one. Im really getting sick of this B16 swap. Any one want to buy it! I have motor in the car for 1 1/2 years and have changed both axles 3 or 4 times due to the boots riping. Thank god Im a pro at changing axles, I have it down to about 20 minutes a side if everything goes right.

Later,
Andy

Lowered somewhere between 1"-2" on Ground Controls, boot slipped on the passenger side... Hoping to replace it with an autozone lifetime warranty one

hahahaha i know what you mean!! same here. i can change axle in like 10 mins! hahaha well im sure people can change faster..but its just a freaking hassle to have to go find one and when you're stuck at a parking lot, you have to change it in front of everyone.

i've got a raxles axle on the passenger side of my CRX. works great, noticable difference and i havent had a problem yet. the drivers side axle is an integra axle like its supposed to be. no boot breaks yet.

I think I'm about to be changing my axles too. I've had the swap a little over a year and haven't had to do it yet. The DS boot is torn, and I'm getting a bad vibrating while accellerating, and sometime decelerating. You can hear it definitely coming from the driveline somewhere.

Does this sound like the axles? I know how to change them, but I'm no pro like you guys. I'd hate to waste my time/money on something wrong.

ive had my swap in for probably 8 months..and havent had any problems yet....i have h&r sport springs..i think they lower like 1.5 inches...also i bought remanufactured axles from advance auto parts...and im using a intermediate shaft from a 91 integra i think....make sure youre using the right int shaft...and...make sure that dust seal was removed inside the hub...ive heard that can cause a lot of problems...

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

sounds like it could be axles.

i think the mounts people use has a lot to do with how fast you wear out axles.

How many miles are on your car? not the motor, the car itself...

well to answer some of the questions

1: I have HASport kit
2; The car is lowered about 2 inches on Suspension Techniques springs & i know i need a camber kit

the axle on the driver side side was rebuilt by me & the vibration on that side stopped but i think the passenger side axle is starting to go

how much is a Raxles passenger side axle
hell how much is driver side too
i have an Integra intermediate shaft

I've got about 180k on the chassis itself. I've got a stock 1st Gen B16, with HASport mounts and custom linkage. It's also lowered about 2 inches and has decently new GR-2's on it. BTW, it has a new PS outter tie rod, I had to replace it when my allignment took a **** a few months back. But when it went, it was nothing like this, and my allignment seams fine.
