Tingling sound underneath my EG
To specify more, i have a 92 eg hatchback DX. When i got the car it had a custom piping already on it. My shift-linkage is loose, but it's just the bushings. To get to the point, i hear a tingling noise in the high RPM's underneath my gearbox. I don't know if my shift linkage is vibrating against something or what.....someone told me my linkage is hitting the "heatshield".....would this be accurate? and if so, should i take it off? thanx ...
Sounds like what my car had when I had a short shifter and custom exhaust piping. Yes it is prob. your heat shield but try and get new bushings for your shift linkage because unless you really need to you should try and keep your heat shield because honda put it there for a reason. Just my .02.
Try and see if you can replicate the sound while your under your car...get a buddy to rev. it up and slide underneath and see what is bangin around. DONT DO IT while its on jacks. It could be something as simple as the exhaust hangers. That also happened to me...My right rear exhaust hanger slid off and it would tap against the frame.
