need help any sugestions i'm new at imports but want to learn
i have a 91 hatch thats a dx but its a 4 spd if i put the dx 5 spd tranny on it can i keep the same cluth if not is the stage one good to use also the motor seems to burn oil and i don't know what the problem is it dosen't seem to smoke but i get thick black residue on the back bumber and if i take a 50 mile highway trip the oil light comes on but if i do city driving it last alot longer before i add oil any suggestions and yes it failed emmisions should i just swap the whole thing do mpfi conversion and new clutch i'm on a tight budget
first i say fix your oil leaking, or oil burning. its probably either the valve stem seals or the rings. fix that first then maybe u can think about a mpfi swap
and hte 91 dx didnt come with a 4 spd so either u got a std hatch or someone put in a 4 speed std tranny, because the dx comes 5 speed

yes u sure do have a STD or shzznits!!
why spend money on a clutch tranny when you can save up and do a b18a swap..
look around you might be able to find a deal with a tranny!!!
then do a MPFI swap and ur are fast allready!!

Don't waste money on a new expensive clutch if your sticking it in a DX Tranny. My stock clutch on my ZC Tranny will be way faster than the grippiest clutch on the DX Tranny simply because the DX gearing is way higher, I've had both trannies so I should know.
You should either...
-MPFI your STD engine and get an Si tranny
-Swap out the engine, a ZC engine and tranny is the cheapest option, B18A the next cheapest but they usually have high miles now.
