(L) Angela Proudfoot ('03 Civic) 0.565 10.470 126.12
Although Tran fell off from his qualifying pace so did Proudfoot and the Quaker State entry took an easy victory. THe drama came after the finish line as Tran spun, initially in his own lane, before crossing over in front of Angela who steered across into the right lane to avoid Kenny who remarkably did not hit any solid objects.

(L) Kenny Tran (Quaker State '93 Civic) 0.385(R) NT-Broke
After Staging
Gardella went into this one as the underdog but Tran got a little anxious on the line and bulbed to hand the win to the New Jersey based team. TO rub salt into the wound Gardella made his best run of the event and also surpassed Tran's speed record that was set earlier in the day at 170.90 mph

As opposed to what some people might think or assume, Gary Gardella is one of the hardest working racers in this sport. Hes constantly tuning that car, constantly at the track during test and tune nights. His life is pretty much devoted to making that car what it is today, Im happy he had much success this weekend, cant wait to call him when he gets back, for Gary, and for all the fellow HT'ers wo attended, tough break, huh earl.
