Folks I need a measurement on a 4th Gen. I'm looking at doing a full 2-1/2" exhaust system for the 4th and 5th Gen cars. I have access to a 5th gen with a stock cat back but not a 4th gen. I need an accurate measurement from the rear axle centerling to the end of the tail pipe tip on a stock exhaust. I'm not interested in ANY after market systems.
The wheelbase on the 5th gen cars is 101.8" and 4th gen is 100.4". The 5th gen overall length is 178" where the 4th gen is 174.8" for a difference of 3.2". 1.4" is in the wheelbase now where is the other 1.8" from? Rear and/or front overhang?
Based on the above numbers I think think it will be a big deal to come up with a system for both when using the same header.
Thanks in advance.

I should be able to measure it for you.
I believe I have a complete stock 4th gen VTEC cat-back exhaust sitting in my garage (under some stuff) that I can pull out. Or I could measure the exhaust as is installed on my 4th gen VTEC (stock).
So you just want a flat, horizontal measurement from the center of the rear axle to the point where the tailpipes end?

Just tell me how to measure it best and I can do it
In that case would you recommend that I just get under the car and hold a tape measure at the rear axle and pull it to the tail pipe end, keeping the measure as close to 180 degrees (flat) as possible?
