Good bye Honda, helloooooo traction!
Well guys 'n gals, the time has come for me to leave the Honda scene. Several factors weigh into this decision. First off, I'm tired of all the bullshit, both online and in person. I think you know what I'm talking about. Second, I'm tired of all the little things that come up with owning a turbocharged Honda. I'm not talking about massive failures; I'm talking about little things- oil and coolant leaks, weird noises that you pull over and check for and nothing's wrong, the engine doing "funny" things once in a while for no reason, and lastly, NO TRACTION.
I've done that built all motor swap thing. I've done that turbo thing. About the only two Hondas I'd really like to step up to are the S2K or the NSX, and neither are in my range because of insurance. I'm sorry, but $350+ a month for insurance on one car just isn't justifyable, no matter what the performance level is.
So what did I get? Well, I got the ******* deal of the century, lemmie tell ya. I traded this: http://thenew.gamesbbs.com/~vassago/93.html minus the stereo and instead of the Enkies, Rota Slips without tires (it's rolling on steelies and snows right now) for this:

which has a new JDM motor (225 HP and TQ), new clutch, new starter, new turbo, new steering system, new starter, new engine wiring harness, and new tires, and the guy threw in $1600 cash to make me happy. It also has power everything, sunroof, leather, power drivers seat, cruise, AC, ABS, airbags, a 10 speaker stereo system, and this cool thing that makes the steering wheel pop up when you take the key out so you can get out of the car easier. The window sticker says it went for $28,980 in '92. That's the equivalent of around $40,000 today.
Now, before you go, "but Honkey, that's just a... CELICA!" let me inform those of you that didn't notice the badges or hood that it's not just a Celica. It's one of the 2500 turbo AWD Celica AllTracs that were imported to North America between '90 and '93. That's right, folks. I'm now the proud owner of a legendary GTFour.
Owning Hondas has been fun, but greener pastures await. Adios.
*gets in the Celica and does a four wheel drift into the sunset*

I looked at those too, but I had a few issues:
1. working on the drivetrain - looks to me like the motor must be dropped to get a new clutch in. Ick.
2. parts - expensive as heck. Just those schmancy fancy seats are like $2000 each.
Nonetheless, it's a fabulous car. Hope none of the above issues cause you any trouble.

Congrads man ...
That is a really nice car and can be made really fast to beat anything on the road !
FWD N/A to AWD TURBO is the right move to make. I did the same thing and I would never go back ... I still love honda's though !

Wow, I learn something new everyday. Didn't even know those existed. It's a shame you left the Honda, but I think I would have made the same decision in your situation. Maybe you can buy an old CRX or something as a daily driver.
thats a cool car. i have a vid of an all-trac vs. an Si 1/4 mi, and the Si won, but after reading these numbers i see that the Si must have had some modifications. I read that they run pretty quick. Looks like a great car, keep it clean!
congrats! that is a sweeeet car! rally time!
I've somewhat LEFT the scene already. I'm parting out my civic and will eventually sell it.
what did I buy?
a 2001 VW GTI 1.8T. I got out of the non-smog legal thang and got with factory turbo!

Hey big daddy, if you need some parts for that dog, let me know. I work for Toyota, and I'll ship cheap, and sell 30 off of cost for anybody needing things...
