i have a 98 civic ex. . .and recently, everytime i engage the clutch, it makes a squeaking noise. . .i dont think its a real big problem but its beginning to become annoying. . .any ideas on what it might be?

 

my 93 civic did the same thing. Does it do it when the car is of when you push down and let go of the clutch pedal? Might just be the return spring, clean it off then re lube it, i used lithium grease and it's all gone!

where is this spring? any pictures of what to do will help me out

 

look up where the pedal goes... there is a spring on it. You'll want a flash light.

near the kick pannel holding the fuses and stuff on my car.

havent checked yet as my car is in the bodyshop. . .get it back this week so thats the first thing im going to check

 

yeah i am having that same problem too it is really annoying to me as well, i have a 2k1 i just checked it out seems as though it would be a pain to get some lithium up there but i guess its worth a shot i will have to wait for home to do it. Mine only does it when it is warm out or if i am driving the car alot it wont do it if i have not driven in a couple days

 

it's really not that hard, just get under there and spray away... took me like 2 min and no more squeaking...

Mine sqeeks, but I was told it might be my TOB.......I'll grease the pedal and let ya guys know, you might want to check both out though....

Tht TOB is a pain to get too, dropped the tranny and what not....
