Default h22 vs. h23 (responsiveness to mods)

Ok, about a year ago i had a h23 prelude. intake, exhaust.. blah blah blah.. Long story short, it got wrecked and i bought a AWD turbo 1G talon. built it up to be about a mid 12 sec car, 16G turbo FMIC... Anyways, i really miss my prelude, and i found a buyer for my car willing to pay 6K. The talon is now on its 3rd tranny inside of 10K miles, and im just sick of it. I know if i get another prelude, it will probably never be as fast, and im ok with that. The prelude is a LOT nicer car. I found a 94 h22 lude black on black leather with 83000 miles for 8500 and i think im gonna jump on it. I just wanted to know how much better the h22 responds to mods than the h23. I mean i know im not gonna get a huge bang for my buck but i would be happy if i could get the car to run low 14's NA. just wondered what all i would have to do to a h22 to achieve this. if its gonna take a lot to do this NA, i may just save up my money and get a basic turbo kit and push like 6-8 psi. What are your opinions on this?

Look at my sig....you can definately get the h22 into low 14's w/ bolt ons. With a little more work definately 13's no problem.

With exhaust, pulleys, boost controller, slicks, and drag gen 2 turbo kit i hit 8.8 on the 8th mile then 13.9 when i ran the quarter. I never dyno'd it just with the stock h23a and turbo kit, but one of my gay friends lee put out 250whp at only 6.5psi.

if i can get high-mid 13's without having to really tear into the engine, i might just go that route. My financial situation as it sits right now doesnt really allow for me to have another car as a backup if the prelude has lots of down time. I want something reliable. If i go the NA route, i dont have to invest 3K right off the bat for a turbo kit. Im gonna miss all the fun noises and the feel of that turbo kicking in.

I cant speak from first hand experience, but for B motors my friend had some serious gains w/ more agressive cams. He also had to upgrade his whole valve train too w/ the more agressive cams. If I had stayed all motor I probably would have gotten that next. But maybe someone that has them for our motors can put some info on them.

Well, im getting 6K for my talon, but most of that is gonna go towards the down payment on the lude and paying off some credit cards. Im down in Ocean City, MD for the summer, and have a waiting job, which ususally brings in well over 100 a night in tips. So the money im gonna be making is pretty good, but i dont have a lump sum to dump into the lude right after i buy it. Of course not all of that money is gonna be able to go to mods, but i hope to put at least 2 or 3 grand into it in the coming months...
