Default Del sol seats in my CRX

Has ne1 done this-the CRX rail doesnt match up on 1 side....the CRX rail w/the seatbelt doesnt match(pass-left, drver right) instead of bolting to the side of the del sol seat, its supposed to bolt to the bottom of the CRX seats. The rails just dont match the seats. Should I just switch that side of the rail to the sol rail? If I do that Ill only have 3 bolts in because of the difference in the rails to the frame so Ill have to drill a new hole into the car to bolt the seat in...NE1 who has done this let me know what u did and if there is an easier way....hurry....I have the seats out right now and I dont have a drill at the moment to set a new hole into the frame of my car......

Yes....thats the first thing I did, but the rails dont match up as I explained....the crx rails bolt directly onto the bottom of the seat...while the del sol seats have only 1 side that bolts to the bottom, and the other bolts to the side of the seat- I even tried to bend it but the rail blocks the screws....grrrrrrr.....

Rails on the factory CRX seats dont fit. If you wanted to ghetto it, you would want to use the factory del sol seat rails and build a bracket about 3.5 inches long pre drilling holes for the actual body hole and one for the seat hole. Then nut n bolt the seat and then bolt it down to the body. thats for one side that doesnt match up. As for the back it will be pretty steady.

The safest thing to do is to drill and tap settings into your frame for the seat.

I was having the same problem, too. I looked online and I got this from the crxsi forum:

if you get a steel bar from a blacksmith 480mm X 80mm X 5mm and drill holes in it to match the tapped holes in the floor pan and use the original bolts to secure the steel plate the plate will make the seat fit by extending the original holes backward by 1 1/2 inches. The rest is self explanatory.

I also found this page with pictures off of google: http://www.thedropshop.tv/seats.html

good luck and tell me how your seats come out! i'm getting my del sol seats tomorrow

Its still safer to directly tap into your frame. Any type of brackets for seats arent that rock steady or what some people call " safe ". But if you dont want to tap into the body, then yep. Just make brackets for all the holes as stated twice above.
