Due to the previous idiot errr owner of my rebuilt Si engine I am in need of a new used Si engine. My questions is does anyone have a ballpark figure as to how much a used Si engine is going for? I live in San Diego, Cali for your info. What is average for a private party and also for auto wreckers.

In care your wondering what happened, who ever rebuilt the engine used locktite on both the main pully and tensioner bolt, long story short the tensioner bolt stripped itself inside the block.

$600 is way too much.

I wouldn't pay any more than $300.

 

$250 is a good average.

 

250-300. Theres people on recycler.com selling engine, tranny ecu and axles for like 200 bucks a lotta times. 600 is way too much, you can get a Dual cam ZC for that much.

 

my friend got a complete swap but it came with a broken dist...for 225

 

i guess one of my friends got ripped off because he got one but it was from the honda dealer for 600...maybe that was including installation...now that i think of it i guess it was

If it was brand new then thats actually a good deal.

Yeah, if it included installation, then it wasn't a bad deal at all. It was probably about $200 for the engine, and $400 for the labor.

 

I paid $400.00 for my engine and tranny combo...that included
a '90 crx ( that played duck duck goose with a pole and lost )
with a few much needed parts on it....i have seen ranges from $75.00
(beta13 old engine...missed out on) to $650.00 from a local boneyard
it all depends.

I got my extra one for $120, and was going to buy my friends for $80 but already had 1...didn't need another. People trash these things, wait on them to get sick of it laying around them buy it cheap cheap cheap!

 

Hmm interesting, ok at least it gives me some idea to get my rex back on the road. Im going to check out the junk yard in a few days see what that turns up..

you can get a SOCH VTEC for like 350... its in hayward i think... not in daygo.... so i dunno wat to say,.. give me a couple of days and i should find the card... just pm if you want the addy...?

i got a crx si motor and zc tranny for $75. the si motor was boosted on and stil hasnt blown and the tranny in on my car right now and works perfect

 

hahah true true.. but right now No engines have been falling on my lap even thou I have been looking..

i JUST sold my d16a6 LASTWEEK it was in primo condition w/everything except the wiring harness and i had a hard time selling it for $150 and it came with a dc sports header.

 

I have a complete d16 but unfortuantly i live in canada...
dont know how shippign works the other way....

 

i need a tranny for my 90 dx so i can sell the thing , nobody wants a Project around here, its kinda wierd. Watch i put a tranny in then someone will want it

but yeah.......... whos got a cheap tranny for sale in the MIDWEST?
