Well here at H-T we have the option of having polls as topics. Sometimes (not often) they can be useful tools, but most times they result in some of the sorryest threads here.
The worst kind of poll is the open poll. This is the type of poll where any user can add a new choice. Usually it is immediately turned into an off-topic, pointless display of childishness as evidenced by the ever present "SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY" poll option added by the first user to click the "add a new choice" option.
I must admit that I have added some really twisted poll choices before as a sort of "punishment" to the person stupid enough to leave a poll open, but I had not targeted and one person or group of persons. I did however add some really gross choices which I'll leave unspoekn at this time.
Well I don't really care if users add choices, and honestly the silly ones like the aforementioned choice don't bother me too much, but recently a few users decided to add their own poll choices using racial slurs and other derrogatory remarks in their choices, and I nor H-T's admins stand for this.

Any moderator can see who added a poll and choice and even who voted for each poll choice, so if you want to get out your hidden agressions on other races, homosexuals, whoever you secretly hate open polls are NOT the proper arena to do this in.
What am I talking about specifically?

I would appreciate anyone browsing the forum to give this one a nice "bump" when you get a free moment because the "sticky" feature tnat would keep it up top for all to see takes a while to get added.

I was just about to bump it. I agree this is no place for racial, sexual, or anything like that comment.

Good job Tom, I have seen the same assinine options added over and over and it just gets old. You are handling it the right way.

I completely agree. I think most people here that see my posts, especially in appearance/cosmetic, know that I HATE the "all Mexicans are poor ricers" attitude, and certainly not necessary on HT, where I come to learn and share knowledge/ideas w/old friend, and new ones.
(I have to admit though, when I read the shift **** poll, the Peter North one had me cracking up )
