What should I do? my car is all stock. I was thinking rims, suspension, headers, cat, exhaust, AEM CAI, and strut bars. What do you guys think?

 

What kind of a car do you have first off.....

 

Sorry, I forgot that. It's a 99 ls. It is Clover Green(i think). Do you think gunmetal rims would look good?

 

-GSR or ITR sway bars would be great for you.
-Carsound cat
-Catback Exhaust (Greddy, Apexi and many others to choose from. Depends on your style and what you want your exhaust to sound like)
-What I have for a suspension setup is great, check my sig
-First off before you get flamed. Our car only has one header. Its not headers. Just letting you know just incase. I am not sure about the header....depends what you are going for I suppose (drag, street, etc.)
-Rims, if you like gunmetal then go for it. If you plan on racing then go light weight. Maybe some falken's for tires.
-I have heard up and down things about AEM so I am not going to comment on the intake. Because I don't really know which intake puts out the most power.

You are going to probably need more then 3 grand for all of these parts....plus you have to factor in shipping and installation. Either way you'll be happy with the upgrades

 

Slam dat **** on some airbags. Also get some hydraulics. Oh, and don't forget the 19" rims, y0.

And I have connections, and I can get the stuff for $2100. The guy at my local car shop told me not to get a Carsound Cat cuz it will throw the check engine light. For the $2100, I can get 16" Velox VX-8Rs w/ tires, Apexi N1, GC coilovers, Koni Yellows, Neuspeed Strut bar, DC Sports Ceramic header, and a B&M short shifter. But not the AEM CAI.

 

Why would a carsound cat throw a code???

 

Suspension for handling first. if you are into that.

Deff get new brakes, like some axxis ultimates. brembos cant hurt either.
itr sway bar and mounting kit.

I am going to do whatever I want, I was just seeing what people thought.

 

these questions are dumb because you get answers like:

"spend all of it on your suspension and have a good handling car thats slow as ****" (most common answer on here it seems)
"id pay off money i owe, blah blah blah", even tho you asked what to spend it on MODS....
and the list goes on.

some people want a slow car that handles good, some want a pretty quick car that handles better than stock, some want a fast as hell car on some cheap coilovers, etc. just decide on your own.

dump that 3 grand into getting a turbo and some tires. you will berry happy.

that's what i did and im in the middle of install... very unhappy but that's just the install... rather complicated when you make your own "kit"

get a suspension setup and some bolt ons then get an ITR or b16 tranny (VERY benificial).
SUSPENSION
tein SS coilovers = 850
ITR Sway bar = 105
front, rear, rearlower strut bar = 250
total: 1205
MOTOR
Comptech Ice Box = 170
JDM ITR Header = 300?
skunk2 exhaust = 450
b16 tranny = 600
total: 1520

grand total: 2725

and spend the remaining money on beer for installing all of ur parts then the remaining money for new fluids (mobil 1 synthetic 5 or 10w/30). then save the rest.

Id wanna do the Turb with new tires.....just get a drag kit or rev hard kit if your not familiar with all the items u need for a custom turbo

 

Use it for a down payment on a Neon SRT-4

save your money, invest it and put it toward the downpayment of a house. Draining money into a car is the worst investment you can make.

That's what I'm talking about!!! Invest y0! I would if I came into a LARGE sum of money like that. It's so worth it now adays. Especially since Social Security and **** like that wont be around much longer.
