Has anyone here used these tires before? If so, which one is better? Which one would last longer? Which one has better grip...etc. Thank You.
I currently have Toyo RA1's. I am happy with them. I have never tried the A032's however i was very
close in buying those, but in the end i bought the Toyo RA1. From my experience the Toyo RA1 has
very good traction. I have used them to drag race & I autocrossed once with them. I do notice significant
traction when I drag race with them. Being that they are R compound tires I would say
that its safe to conlcude that they offer good traction while autocrossing also compare to regular tires.
One word of caution, autocrossing with them will definitely shorten their life just like with any other tire.
I dont think i will autocross with them again, they are the only tires i have & i would suggest an xtra
set of tires if u are going to autocross.

After few posts here, I've bought some Kumho V700 Victoracer! Do a search man! There's at least 10 good posts on the subject!
I'm not using my Kumho on the street... Many people use RA1 or the A032R on the street but since I'm doing close to 20K miles a year! These are to expensive to use them on the highway! And at the end... You're basicly running on slicks, so forget going out when it's raining!
The Kumho is a bit better compare to the RA1 but will not last as long! But it's the best R compound tire available... without playing with negative camber!
My .02$

I have used both on my R in the last year for track events (road course)
The treadwear rating on the RA-1s is 40. The A032Rs are 80 (i think).
When new the RA-1s are kind of squishy and loose - they firm up as they wear. The RA-1s are MUCH QUIETER than the A032Rs which drone very loudly on the highway/street.
The RA-1's like lower inflation pressures for the track. I have been running as low as 25 psi depending on the ambient temp. But they warm up quickly and generally improve as they heat up. They have loads of grip when cornering and exceed the A032R in braking traction.
The A032Rs are much longer lasting than the Proxes and have slightly firmer sidewalls - not great for the dragstrip at all. For autocross and hot lapping they are great though. They have progressive release at the limit, wear very evenly and give lots of audible warning before they break loose. The Proxes are a little quieter and wear more UNevenly.
Both are great tires. 7" rims are the best for them in the 205/50 size.
My feeling is the RA-1s are a little faster at the expense of treadwear.

However, treadwear ratings can only be compared within a given brand. While the Yokohama A032R should last half as many miles as the Yokohama A022H which is rated 120, you can't necessarily conclude that it lasts 50 percent longer than a tire from another brand with a 40 rating.
I have the AO32R's, and I am very happy with them. I have a few track days as well as AutoX 'x on them. I used them as a street tire for about 7-8 months, then bought another set of R wheels and now only use them as track wheels and tires.

Grassroots Motorsports just did a test with the RA-1 shaved to 4/32, the Victoracer V700, and the Hoosier R3S03...informative, each tire was a winner, that is depending on what type of a driver you were, the track that you were running on, and the wear characteristics that you were looking for(aka - how often you could afford to replace a tire that runs between $130-160+)

No, the treadwear rating on the A032R is 60. At least, it is on the 205/50-15 size.

Which is better? hard to say. For street/track use, I'd choose 032R. For track only, i'd choose RA-1.
The 032R would last longer and wears very well.
RA-1 has better ultimate grip. Hence provide better lap times. Both tires warms up very quickly.
Basically, if these are your only 2 tire choices then just simply decide based your usage of the tires. For more street, less track, then 032R. More track, less street then RA-1.
