Question about brakes/SS lines?
I just had my SS lines put on today, and now my brake pedal is way, way softer than before. Before I had to move it about 15% of full travel to get the brakes to engage real nice and firm. Now I have to push it down about 40-50% of the way to feel any type of real braking. I think I have the awnser but what do you guys think?
yea, bleed ur brakes... i think i've read this same thing in the type r forum like 3 times. but more along the lines of "i had to bleed the lines 3 times to get my pedal feel right." lol don't worrie too much. nothing is broken or defective.
Thanks guys, this is what I thought the problem is, but I just needed to hear it from others too. And if you still wanted to know they are Goodridge lines. But thanks guys for your help and as I speak they are being bled again.
Problem fixed, my suspension and brake tech said that their was a little bit of air in the rear lines, and he apologized. Realizing that no one is perfect, I forgave. He said that if their is any more air in the lines that it should work it self out. But once I got my car back it felt great. Pedal is very firm, not as firm as before when I initate brakes, but when I get into them, wow.
I would have to say something that I really like about it is it makes my brakes feel more balanced, I don't know if that is normal feeling but my car doesn't seems to brake dive as much as it did before. It wasn't much brake dive before, but I can tell a difference now.
Thanks for all your help guys.

a little off subject..but my brakes are starting to make that high pitched, sharp sound when i apply the brakes. do i have to replace the rotors along with the brake pads?
are the little metal tabs that sit behind your brake pads making the sounds? They are wear indicators and they are made to make that sound. Are your brakes worn?
