i have a 01 itr with 6000 miles on it. i has burned a quart of oil since its first oil change. is this common in itrs or should i be concerned. should i considr switching to a heavier weight oil or synthetic. my car has also started grinding third gear whenever i shift it at redline. ive heard that alot of other people have had this problem. what causes it. i have had two gsr's before this and never had a problem with grinding gears.

 

My ITR burns a quart of oil after evey oil changes after driving 1000 or so miles. I've used dino oil, 5w30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and 10w30 Mobil 1 Full Synthetic and it happens every time. Maybe its because I go into VTEC everytime I take the car out.

Others have burned the same, but a few people have claimed not to burn a drop of oil.
