Default H22a will this work in a Accord 93 Lx

I want to install a H22a DOHC Non-Vtec into a Honda Accord 93 Lx. Will this be a one to one swap or will it be complicated. Or should I be looking for a F22b DOHC Non-Vtec instead? Please let me know

I don't think there is any such thing as an H22A DOHC non-vtec. Are you sure it isn't an H23A? It's a relatively easy swap though...

Will my stock tranny on my 93 Accord Lx be able to handle a Vtec motor? Or what Dual Over Head Cam motors would you recommend for my setup.

the h22a into 4th gen is one of the easier swaps if you get an obd1 h22a....i'd either go h23 or h22a.....the h/f series trannies are interchangeable....h23 has higher gearing and the h22a has shorter gearing....the f22 tranny is similar to the h23 as far as gearing, but i think the internals aren't AS strong as either h trannies....it might last a while on the h motor, or maybe not.....i wouldn't mess with swapping a f series into it though....h23 swap isn't that expensive and you get a little more hp/torque but have a great candidate for a turbo later.....

Can you please tell me, If it were you would you install the H23? Is the H23 DOHC Vtec or Non-Vtec? And if it is Vtec can my tranny handle it? Would this be a one for one swap or will I have to make modification to accomodate the swap? The reason I would like to keep my tranny is I just replaced it 2 years ago with a newly rebuilt one. If I can save on the tranny then I would love to invest my funds into the engine. Do you know where I purchase a good H22a or H23 from? their is both a h23(JDM), that is vtec and a h23 that is not vtec. your tranny should hold up fine with either engine, just the gearing is different from the origional tranny that is mated with the engine origionally.
