Default Mystery Cams?

My friend who recently got out of Hondas and out of the country on a trip dropped off a set of cams in my lap.

Now I THINK they are Type-R cams but I just want to verify with some others who might know for sure.

They have the tell-tale signs that they are....on the dist side of the intake cam, there are two grooved rings (doesn't that denote CTR cam?)

The exhaust cam also has the same two rings on the distributor side. I've discussed with my friend as to what these cams are and he isn't quite sure himself. They were given to him by an uncle who was a mechanic overseas.

I remember reading that some of the newer (EM1/B16A/Si/SiR) cams also had these two grooves as did the newer 18C1 cams. I'm lost in my mess of a garage and cannot find these cams to compare to the ones I have sitting in front of me.

Short of installing them....how would one go about measuring them? Using a set of calipers I'm guessing?

EDIT: OK...rummaged thru my piles of junk and managed to find what I KNOW for a fact to be the '00 SiR cam..and there is NO grooves...so that rules those out.
