Default 10-Minute Oil change

I went to Jiffy Lube to take my brothers girlfriend to get an oil change.
I brought mine along and decided to do them both.
I got the Mobil Synthetic Oil which garauntees me 5kmiles.
My car hasnt been acting the same...
I check my air filter and it was changed..
I cant check my oil filter w/o doing a complete oil change..
the Dipstick shows the Oil Level Very Low.
Ive put less then 2k Miles since that oil change.
The oil is also very dirty. Those places have a reputation for pulling fast-al's.
Meaning they didnt do jack ****. Im going to go back and tell them they didnt do ****.
Im pissed anyone else have this happen to them? What did you do?

Why would you wait for 2k miles to complain? Did you check your dipstick when the oil was changed? Your car might be burning oil, make sure to add more in. Also, oil gets dirty... nothing stays clean forever.

go over there and kick somebody's ***! If they didnt do it tell them that they didnt do the work or that they used the wrong oil or they put in the wrong amount. I think as long as you have your receipt they will give you another one for free. I think you should NEVER have someone else do your oil change other than yourself because they dont give a s@#t.just do it yourself which i think youve learned the hard way, and it cheaper and you know what type of oil and filter youve used. Good luck and peace put.

Something like this happened to my uncle and his motor blew because it had no oil in it. They drained it but never put any oil back in. He took them to court and lost because before you leave Jiffy Lube you sign a contract that states you have reviewed the work that was performed and everything appears to be in working order. Did you sign anything like that??

why don't you just change your oil yourself, that way you know what is done

or, better yet, be like me and jsut rebuild it every couple thousand miles

If your oil is changed in 10 mins that's a shitty *** job. How the hell would all the oil drain in only a few mins? Figure they start to drain it let it sit for maybe 2 mins pull the filter pop on a new one on plug it while it is still draining slightly then fill it up. There could be about a qrt left in there.

Do your own oil changes! Drain all the oil. If you can't change your own oil how do you put gas in your car? Full serve?

best thing to do is check your oil right after an oil change.

not much you can do now 2k miles later. your motor could be burning oil. or it has not been uncommon for mobil 1 synthetic to burn in h22a's and all dohc honda motors.

i wouldn't worry too much. just change the oil again.

never ever bring your car to jiffy lube or speedy's. my friend used to work at speedy's ans said they don't know jack **** about what they are doing. they break anything that is in the way just to get the oil filter off. DIY!!!

This is the first time I have taken it anywhere to get the Oil Changed.
Im going to do it this coming Monday. Whats the best kind of Oil to run??
anyone have suggestions?
And also, how often do you guys run Fuel Injection Cleaner through your system?
Ive never run it since I have had the car.

I wouldn't trust jiffy lube to greese my bicycle. I stopped by there one day because I wanted new tranny fluid and I was in a hurry.

There were 3 technitians under my car trying to find the drain bolt for my tranny. (I wasn't watching them do it) They pulled the wrong bolt off the front of it (reverse idle spring or something) and then forgot to put it back in.

over the next week, all my tranny oil splashed out.

result: Jiffy lube bought me a new JDM tranny

mobil one tends to be a darker color to start with which makes is look dirty faster and yes, mobil one synthetic burns faster than regular oil. Just change your oil yourself and you wont have to worry about retards messing up your car.

Would it hurt to put 15W50 Mobil 1 Synthetic oil in 2001 Prelude?

No, but for every double in weight you'll reduce your HP by about 3%

why dont you just take it back and get it refilled. i think they do that **** for free. or at least my oil change place does it. they say if ANY fluids get low, they replace up to 2 quarts for free <--------- its meant for people like me who burn oil like there is no shortage.

oh, and a side note about all this... Don't go to Vavoline's instant oil change places. I went there once, the bill came out to something like $26 which wasn't too bad. Then I hear the one guy yell to the other "no! no! he got synthetic" and I was expecting to pay another $10 or something... total bill then jumped to $54

Damn sad story, but its true. A friend of mines had his oil changed at JiffyLube also and they freaking sliced his radiator hose on purpose just because he ask for a heavier weight oil be put into his car, those guys are really irreasponsible even the management was rude he said. I tell u what learn to change your oil yourself and get a feeling of satisfication doing it yourself, works for me all the time.
