Default Question about tial wastegate

I have a tial 35mm with .45 bar spring. Max Rev manifold on an LS. Here is my question: I know that the wastegate is supposed to be open under boost. But is it supposed to be letting air out like say at idle. Cause when i put my hand under the dump tube, I can feel a considerable amount of air coming out from the dump tube. Just wondering if this is normal.

did you put in the metal ring that slides into the flange? lots of people don't put that little ring in there.. that ring creates the deal and closes the wastegate.. if theres no ring then yes you'll have a slight leak ;-)
