Prelude Development V. Other Honda
Hey guys, first time here ever. Was following a link to check out a header and found you all got a nice lil information bank here. Question for you (i know i might take a flame or two here as well)..... I want to be quick with a car, like 13.5 quick. Heres the thing, a guy I know has a brand new civic engine, fully built turbo, and all the bells and whistles (light rims, suspension, all of it) he is selling for 2 times his payoff (97 civic turbo'd out the door for 9K). The new engine has less than 7,000 miles on it as well. He's buying a new SUV, go figure how someone goes from one extreme to the other.
With the 9000 I could use to buy that , would it be worthwhile to even consider to fix up my prelude? I've seen a lot how our cars can't handle boost well (supposedly) and am trying to figure out whats the best way to go. The civic is timed at 13.6 on streets. What would I NEED for my prelude to run that fast (99 prelude 5 speed, base) or better? Thanks ahead of time!

I really haven't spent time looking for stuff in detail(all i have now is AEM CAI, AEM Under Drive, WW RS KIT, Nuespeed springs) I do know that I can't do anything thats major engine work myself, so I will have to pay someone to do that (shops where I live charge a hefty price as well) Perhaps you could point me in better places to look for this? I guess I'd like to see how I could keep the car reliable and quick safely. I can build it up, but I can't keep rebuilding it up b/c I am about to buy a house. Does that clear up anything?
the search button is your friend, Try that first there is a wealth of info on this site. If you can find what you need after that then ask and you have a better chance of getting the answers you need.

read up on this thread. The prices the other guys listed are for brand new stuff... but you can get a decent used turbo kit with some goodies for under $3k easily.
I can recommend a few good shops down here if you want to drive to Atlanta or Birmingham from Kentucky.

Sorry, I didnt know that you could use the serach feature. I am used to boards/forums where you have to pay for a premium to be able to use the searches. I'll troll around looking then
Thanks for the heads up!

it was only a civic ex engine. it was built inside but only tuned to 8PSI at the time of the run. the turbo was small i thought, maxed at like 14.75 PSI. however the guy/shop that did it has a great rep where I live, only drawback is they charge an arm and a leg!
