How to tell diff between GSR and Stock trans??????
I bought a transmision from a guy on this posting, and not that I don't trust the guy, but my luck has been for s*&@ lately and I want to be sure that I got at least PART of what I paid for.
So how do I tell if the tranny he sent me is really a GSR tranny and not just some stock unit.
He said that it was from a 93 Integra, so duh, it's a cable clutch.
Thanks

It should have a sticker on it that says YS1. But even if it does, it doesn't necessarily mean it came from a 2nd gen GSR.

There is the '90-91 LS which has a "S1" code on it. The '92-93 Trannies are YS1 (both the ls and the GSR)....Sorry, I don't know how to tell the difference. Put it in and see which one it is since you already have it.
The JDM S1/J1 has tight gearing (like the ITR) while the Y1 gearing is a little longer but some has the factory LSD. All of these tranny have tighter gearing than the LS tranny.
