Default MotorMatrix Street Car..... Blew it up properly!!!!

well, last night i went to the track in hopes for my 10 second time slips. made 1st pass 11.9@127 (bad bog in 2nd gear). 2nd run missed 2nd. big time tranny issues with the double disc clutch. 3rd run car wouldnt go in 2nd real well so i had to rape 2nd. got a decent 1.77 60 ft and shifted 3rd hard and i was runnign what was my best time in the 1/8th so far, 7.4@104. thats 3mph faster than the 11.1 run. anyway, on to the good ****. the car is pulling nasty at 20+ psi in 3rd when it starts to pull right real hard in the right lane. i am steering my *** off and am about 1ft from the grass when the shiftlight comes on for 4th. well, my shiftlight is set at 8200 so i have some time to react to shift since i am a track rookie. i see the light on but i am steering with both hands to get back to the middle of my lane. I let go of the wheel with one hand and it pulled harder right. i guess when i pulled the wheel left i pulled the shifter left and did the noobie/rookie/idiot top of 3rd to 2nd down shift at 9300 rpm. needless to say the car shut off immediately and coasted to a 11.7@95. there goes my 10 second run and my motor.cylinder 3 is the only one fucked up since 2 valves broke. i think it can be welded up but the pistons are done for sure.the block is fine but need to be bored to 83 or 84mm.this is the reason why i stayed stock bore, you have a little room for error. I just figured i would post up so you guys know whats up with the car. oh, well I learned the expensive way and the hard way that if you are in trouble down the track to let off. its just not in my blood to let off but i guess thats what i should have done or shift the car to right gear would be good too.

my new plan is to build a full race car for the track for myself and just run a mild 400-500 turbo setup on my hatch for the street. i may even get it back to street car class specs to run street class too. running 3 days a week on the street and then the track also is just too hard on the car. I would rather have a 9 second race car and an 11 second street car. stay posted for some race car pics soon. I already have a chassis!!!

yeah, accept the damn race car will be in your class i had a lot of fun while it lasted. i takes a lot more skill to drive at the track then it does to go 3rd gear roll on the highway. I like the challenge at the track thats why i think the race car will be a lot of fun!! beware tony, i'll be haunting you with questions

yeah, we do have a full race h22 hatch. the story behind this car is its one of my buddies/partners who I work hand and hand with at Gr Technologies. his race car was built before i met him so its his race car really.he is the only one who drives it. Chris from Gr tech is going to help me build mine now. we will have 2 cars to compete and have fun with. 2 cars are better than 1!!! ask venom who has like 10 cars I dont care for all motor and i cant afford pro fwd or i would build a car for another class.

Bummer! I made the same noob mistake at the track and the motor held, but the stock ITR pressure plate blew up. You learn from your mistakes. Now you can build an even badder motor and run 10's all day long

At least you took blowing the engine as a reason to go bigger instead of a reason to get out of the game/scene/hobby/etc.
For jumping back in the ring.

i think it is much higher. like 13k or so. its an si tranny.

and yes the pauters did survive and so did 6 othere ferrea valves on the intake side. only 2 broke the rest bent. lucky would have been if they all bent, but the 2 that broke wrecked everything.

Dang Mike that sucks but atleast you take it like a champ! It is good to see someone play the game and not bitch about the inevitable consequence of racing.... **** breaks, learn from it and come back faster..
It is good to hear the Pauters took that amount of stress though
