Don't do it

Get a 10 in a small sealed box. It will be easy to remove.

I agree...Bazooka is low end car audio. For the money, there's much better out there.

How cheap? http://search.shopping.yahoo.c...&did=

There are several there. Seems to be going for between 200-300.

why would you buy a bazooka, if you blow it, you can't replace the sub or amp, you have to buy a whole new thing

amps are repairable and from what I have seen their speakers are dirt cheap. I want something I wont care if it gets ripped off. If anyone knows of something that sells for around $200 that includes an amplifier I'm all ears. I drive this car in the rain and when I have a lot of miles to drive. It's just a 91 integra so it doesn't need anything special.

thanks vteg

there is no price range. I just want something that is not heavy (trying to keep the car lite) and that can easily be removed easily like for autocrosses or if i need the extra room. I want something that sounds good, and at the same time thumps. any suggestion.

thanks

If you want something that thumps, I don't think the bazooka would satisfy you. A small box/high power 10 is what you need Brahma, tdx, xxx10, 10w7. Add one of these to 1 cube, or less, sealed and 1000 watts You could go for a 12 in 1 cube also. Those subs work in small sealed well, but when you are ready you can port them for some extra db's.

The amp will weigh around 10-15 pounds probably. You would just need to disconnect the leads from the sub and remove the box for autocrossing. You would also need to remove the fuse for the amp, or the remote lead to prevent any accidents.

I'm looking to get a bazooka basstube for my hatch. Why? Everything behind the front seats is stripped so it has to go behind my front seats. I don't want to add an external amplifier. Space is limited for me and I just want some lows. I'd rather the bass not be heard outside the car as long as I can hear it in the front seat

I don't think the Bazookas are bad, I have one in my hatch and it sounds great. I would get the unamplified one, and get a small amp and install it under the passanger seat. It weighs less than 10lbs. And if the sub blows you can always upgrade it to a better sub. Cost wise, it can be done for under $200. The bass sounds great, nice and tight. Two straps and the sub is out in less than 30 secs. One thing though, if you have a rear strut bar. You are limited to where you can mount it and you loose about 70% of your trunk. I guess there are some sacrifices you have to make, plus I still get to keep my spare, or even put a full size spare so I don't have to use the donut.

To build a box alone would cost you more than the bazooka. That's just my $0.02.

I don't think so. You could even get a cheap prefab sealed box.

Where is your tube mounted?

Have you heard any that have the built in amplifier? How are they? I don't want to mount an amp under my seat.

Probably would eventually do that

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Cost wise, it can be done for under $200. The bass sounds great, nice and tight. Will one fit behind our front seats on the floor board?

Thanks!

My sub is mounted in my trunk. I have heard that the amped bazookas are not worth buying, cos if the amp blows you're screwed. If you want to mount one behind the driver's seat you might wan to go with the 8" bazooka. The 10" won't fit.

I don't think you'll be happy with amped bazooka and plus they don't sound as good.

Alternatively, is you are set on getting a bazooka, mount it onto a board with an amp and run the wiring so that all you need to do is unhook 3 wires(Ground, power and remote) a couple of butter-fly nuts and the sub and amp are out it under 1 min. I just asked a friend of mine and he said that the best sound for a sub it would have pointing towards the hatch.

Go with the 10", I think you'll be happier with it.
Or you could go with the Bazooka that looks like a bottle of giggle gas.... If you are into that.

do NOT get an 8 inch bazooka, they dont hit for crap. I have a 10in. Bazooka with a built in amp (brother gave it to me from his totalled car). It sounds perfectly fine. If you just want more bass, nothing extreme, but enough to set off some alarms and shake your mirrors (hehe), a bazooka is perfectly fine. Mine is only 100 watts, really cheap setup but it sounds perfectly fine... People say it sucks because they compare it with subs that are in boxes with external amps n all that other stuff. Bazooka's perfect if ur on a budget (if you can find a cheap one), or just want something thats simple. As for the built in amp blowing, how often does that happen? My brother had it in his car for 3 years, never had a problem with it, and i've had it in my car for almost a year now, no problems either... It bounces around a lot (had it unstapped for the longest time because i moved it around a lot), scratches all over it, dropped a buncha times, suffered severe impact from throwing crap in my trunk and still works perfectly fine...

I dunno why everyone hates bazooka...my first car and first system I ever had started out with one 10" bazooka tube powered by some pioneer amp....after doing all the speakers in the car....amping them...and finally adding an eq..I wanted more bass...so I bought a second 10 tube and got an alphasonic amp that I powered the both of them with.....
have to say every now and then I miss those two tubes because they actually sounded pretty damm good and didnt take up much room
maybe the newer stuff sucks...
