Default what is wrong, i don't know

car: 89 civic dx motor w/ 141k auto

here's my problem, before i had a coolent leak at where the water pump is located, i think it is because of the old seal.

so after replacing new (used water pump from junk yard) and with new seals, now my car feels like it is powerless when in low tourqe........meaning when the car starts going in first gear, the padel feels hard and i have to give it alot of gas, stepping harder to get the car to move, same thing in 2nd gear and 3rd gear.....

so what is going on? before the change i used to get like 280 to 300 miles a tank and now only like 230 or 240 or so.........

is it because of my timing?

thanks

go back and make sure your timing belt is timed right and has enough tension

maybe the cam was advanced a little because of belt strechting or something, and that might have caused it to perform a little better

the old timing belt might have stretched, advancing the cam just a little bit, which might have made it faster

i dunno, just throwing out ideas

This is def. a timing issue... take it to a mechanic.. shouldn't charge you more than 50 bucks to fix... also, what the hell are you doing buying a used waterpump? Thats just plain stupid... you dont even know if it is good... I would have gone all out and got new if I was gonna do this!

yea, i am thinking it is a timing issue too.........maybe set incorrectly? or something? i am cheap, don't wanna pay 50 bucks to fix it, DIY.

and the water pump....... it didn't cost me a single dime for it
yes, is still good when i put it in
