Default Self-made grounding wires installed

I made my own grounding wires yesterday and got it installed today. Thanks to my friend Chris who gave me his HKS battery terminal mount.

I think i feel better accerleration in the low end and a little better throttle response

Notice anything else? Brighter headlights, or anything like that?

Where did you install your wires at? which ground points? did you sandpaper the points with paint on them?

HUH? How in the world would this provide additional horsepower? Did you verfy with a before/after dyno run? If anything it looks like you added five pounds of weight to the car.

I don't think it would make any additional power, but I have heard that electrical sytems runs more smoothly after doing this. Of course, its all word of mouth...I havent seen the results personally.

you THINK it gave you better acceleration..only a dyno may prove that.

Check import 2nr, they're done a number of tests for ground wires, and all have actually shown horsepower increases, whether minimal or up to 10hp like they found on the rx7 or wrx (i forget which).

What type of cables and ring terminals did you use? What else did you use for the install, I'm thinkin of doing this on my civic.

I think I remember reading in a couple issues back of turbo mag that they were able to increase the hp of a WRX by about 5hp with a grounding kit, however I don't understand the concept behind it.

I use Hyperground wire, and I like it... brighter light, better respond...

and this dyno chart from350zforum.com

OK I still don't get it. You posted two dynos of a 350z and the second one is running a leaner mixture. "Gee, it made more power when I leaned out the mixture." If those dynos were for real, you would see more power with the same fuel mixture becuase 'ignition efficiency' improved. THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Claims of 10hp on a WRX by adding some wire are crazy. Do you seriously think the stock electrical system on a car is so deficient? Come on guys, this is snake oil. If your lights are dim, and there isn't enough juice flowing to your coil packs, you have bigger problems than the need to supersize a ground wire.

When I grounded the headlights on my civic back to the battery directly, they stopped flickering. So that was cool.

Seems like more direct grounding points could help a lot of things out including HP, but I don't think it'd really be noticable unless you studied a dyno very closely.

Don't knock it till you try it.

Nice Job KW-AP1
btw, gas mileage is increased, along w/ throttle response, stereo, and lighting.
