Default manual tranny rebuild

My 3rd and 5th gear synchros are gone. So I'm thinking time for a new tranny or rebuild. I know that I will be boosting my H22 in a few month and if I have to rebuild my tranny, I might as well build it really good. Where can I get a manual tranny "bulletproofing" rebuild kit?

I am interested in knowing this also. When I have an LSD installed, we will inspect the tranny, if it looks word, I would like to rebuild it.

Hey Honda318dx where do you get your tranny internals from or do you know a site where you can buy them?

So you are saying that a stck tranny rebuild can handle a boosted H22 running like 8 lbs?

Very much so. The factory transmissions are very strong, most likely strong enough to handle any amount of power you will ever want to throw at it. What they can't handle for very long is abuse; power shifting, forcing it into gear, regular 7,000rpm dumps, ect. The syncronizers and differential are what take the blunt of the abuse. One small role of the syncronizers is to take the shifting abuse before the actual transmission gear teeth do. If you let your syncronizers grind and whine too long but you still manhandle the tranny, the gears are next in line to fail.
Differential failure is most commonly associated with shock damage, drag racing for example.

Stock parts are great. If you can, get the synchros Cryogenically treated first. This helps them last a little longer, especially if you are drag racing. Cryo is not a cure, but can extend the life of a part.
