Is there an external difference from the 40mm and the 40mm HP?

I bought a 40mm "HP" from someone on here, and I was wondering if there is a way to tell without taking her apart.

You can't tell the difference by looking at the outside of the wastegate.

Do you sell just the spring? I need a 1 bar spring for the 40 mm one.

What does the wastegate come with? Does it come with all the bolts, both flanges?

Do you mean there is a mm difference in the actual "valve" of the WG between the HP and normal?

I just thought that the HP had the ability to accpet the larger and smaller springs thus raising it's ability to boost higher.

The valve is the same diameter. The difference is in the high pressure spring.

the only difference is the spring rate thats all. up to 1bar is a standard and over 1bar is th HP. you could also combine springs to achieve a rate over 1bar

So does this mean that the 38mm is going to replace the 35/40 Hybrid? Does the 38mm come with colored tops or only polished?

A larger valve will have more surface area and make it harder for the wastegate to remain closed under high boost. The bigger surface area results it more pressure per sq. in. on the face of the valve, making it's job of holding in exhaust pressure more difficult. A smaller valve and a bigger diaphram is actually better for high boost.
