Pretty straight forward, keep ur 97's, everyone always goes to the 99-00's just the same as all the coupe guys go to si tails and teg guys go for the 98+ ones.

Unbolt old...bolt in new...plug and play. And though everyone does do the 99-00 tail conversion, in my opinion its worth it because it does look better, but thats just me...i have an 00 hatch so i didnt have to...

plug and play
you are going to have to unsnap some of the inside plastic panels to get to those bolts, but it's fairly simple.

you will also need new turn signal bulbs. because the 96-98 turn signal bulbs are clear/white since the tail light itself is amber in that section.

opposed to the 99-00 tail lights having the clear turn signal, they use an amber bulb. so you'll need to go get an amber turn signal bulb

I dunno why you guys gotta be such dicks, all I sais was it was my opinion that the 96-98 tails look better, if you dont think so you dont gotta say it like its a fact or something, and plug and play or whatever you're sayin, I said THEY BOLT STRAIGHT IN, now is that true or what, thought so....
