Default How To: Custom Exhaust that tilts up/out but doesn't scrape..

Here are the pics. Unlike the tradtional Apexi N1 which hangs low and scrapes on everything, this setup will NOT scrape on anything. My car was dropped like 4.5" and I hit in once in like 2 years...

Note: 2.5" Mild Steel Mandrel Bent Piping. Apexi NA n1 2.5" inlet, 4.0" Outlet!

whats the point of a tilt upward/outward exhaust what function does it serve? sounds like a form over funciton thing here. everyone has the tilt exhaust so everyone else has to do it.

exactly what i was thinking. when people do these weird angled mufflers which server no purpose at all they actually lose the ability to utilize the rear lower tie bar location all becaus eit looks "cool" and everyone does it.

Well, he was lowered 4.5", not like he cares about handling mods. I'd say that's a fine exhaust for him.

For real, as long as he likes it, then cool.

Looks good BTW.

I was just showing, in case anyone wanted to do it.

And as for the reason for the tilt.. there's a very clear one. Form, it looks kinda cool if u ask me. Yes form over function....oooohh.. im a ricer... don't be so uptite. And yes I like riding slammed, i think the car looks fine. I have Shortened Stroke Koni's w/ Ground Control's and ERS springs with nasty spring rates. It takes all of 5 minutes to bring the car up for Auto-X and Drag Strip.

Tie bar's are useless IMO.. They don't do much.
Oh yeah and I fit a Beaks SRK with ITR rear bar with that exhaust no problem as well.. Oh yeah and even with that kink in the exhaust I made 207whp NA on my last shitty motor.

I scrapped this setup for a 2.25" piping w. two resonators, and a ITR muffler, and a 3" QTEC on the end of my HeaderTech header.

Don't you hate fubaring your 200 dollar corner balance/alignment everytime you mess with your ride height? I know I do.

I had my n1 installed custom, and it angles, and barely scrapes... and i'm about 3" down right now, usually i ride about 4" lowered...

I was going to do it like you did, but I have the rear tiebar and swaybar as you see, so that wouldn't be an option for me...
