Default Piston ?'s for a D16Y8 Turbo

Ok, well the junkyard turbo project for my car is heading on to the next step. I picked up some LS rods to be machined out, but I wanted to got an idea on what pistons might be good for my setup.

I know for NA everyone is fond of using the P29 pistons. But those produce way to much compression for a turbo motor.

So, keep the stock pistons from the y8, or are there any others that might work.

Keep in mind that I do not have the money right now for aftermarket pistons, I am looking for something from the d series family of engines that I can go to the junkyard and pull (and then go get new rings from the dealer).

Any ideas out there?

Not sure what you have in mind but i think turbopanda(?)(the guy in thailand) uses supra pistons in his turbo setup...I'm sure you read Spades write up on the d's but if not, there's a link in my sig.

Yeah, I read the write up, but it only has information for using the P29 pistons, for NA applications.

I'm not positive, but I think VX pistons are quite flat. not positive though! I'll let you know about CX pistons in a week or two!
