Insurance dropped me: Big price difference between gsr/ls and 4dr/2dr?
My insurance refused to continue my policy, so i need to get rid of my turbo AWD DSM and get a car that is more reliable and also cheaper for insurance. Is there a big difference between a gsr and an ls and a 4dr and a 2dr? (it would have to be a turboed ls if it was an ls)
Yes the GSR will run a little bit more becuse of theft. However any integra will be kind of high due to theft. Your probably a lot better off with a Civic for insurance purposes.
When i applied for insurance there was a big difference between the RS/LS and the GSR and Type R.
My insurance company listed the RS/LS as a compact sedan but listed the GSR as a sports car. Odd thing was, they didnt ask me how many doors the car had so i reckon this wasnt as important as the model itself.
Cheers

Be prepaired to shell out a ton of dough for the GSR and Type R. I use to have a LS and it wasn't that bad. Once I got my GSR my insurance just went through the roof and I only have one ticket. My girlfriend works for an insurance rep and I had her check out some price comparisons between different companies. Most of the prices are quite similar. The rating of the GSR is the same as most $50-$60,000 cars. I think it is due to the high theft and cost of repair. I don't know if location matters at all, but the cheapest that we found was $6,000 a year. Insurance and theft are definetly a very down side to the Integra.
all integras are high to insure...they get a worse than average insurance rating. i looked up what it would cost me to insure a brand new BMW M3 (just for ***** and giggles)......M3 is $200 cheaper a year than my 2000 LS
