Inconsistent Ride
I get a real rough ride at speeds over 50 miles per hour. It feels like all 4 tires arent getting contact w/ the road--sorta like a skipping feeling. I've had my car lowered for about 3 months now(H&R Sports, Tokico Illuminas) and I have 205/60/15 Dunlop Sport A2s on stock wheels. I have no idea what could be causing this. I've had the car aligned and it still drives pretty bad. What else could be causing this?
How many miles are on your tires. When you lower a car you mess with the camber and your tires are worn in from the stock suspension. My car felt like it was bouncing when I was on the highway and when I put my 18's on it the ride was smooth because my tires had no miles on them.
Quick questions, with an alignment, are the specs changed if you lower a car? If they did the alignment to factory specs wouldn't it feel a little off? I have the same tires as you on OZ's and they are smooth as silk, but my car isn't dropped and has the original suspension. YOu can ask a friend to drive next to you and he can see if the wheels are hopping maybe a shock is bad? Also you can look at what your rear wheels are doing by aiming the mirrors low and in while you are driving. Front ones you need to stick your head out the window.

how low is your car?
what size tires do you have?
lowering a car puts stress on other parts that dont normally have that kind of stress on them, check out your ball joints and tie rods
some of your bushing might be shot too, that will make your car feel very loose and like its floating on the road instead of riding on it

It's lowered 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the back. The tires are 205/60/15. How would I check to see if it might be the bushings? Thanks for all the help...btw.

I have the same problem, but some of it was fixed when I found out that my camber kit was loose on one side. But I'm thinking that it might be the bushings that are worn out, which is causing the problem. I'm going to get those later when I have a full day and access to a press.
Hey guys, i had my tires and wheels checked at a shop this weekend(no bends in the wheels and the tires are still in great shape). My tires were rotated and balanced, but the problem is still there. I dont have a camber kit on the car. I was told that my drop wasnt really low enough to need a camber kit when the springs/shocks were installed. Do i maybe need one?
Only way to tell is to get an alignment read out. Usually if you are within .5-1.5 degrees of negative camber you --should-- be okay, but I like to think that staying closer to .5 would keep tire wear down substantially.
And if you're going to check your bushings, you may as well replace them even if they aren't damaged. Go with some aftermarket bushing from Energy Suspension. You're problem might be that your toe is off, that would cause your car to feel nasty at high speeds, or on bumps. Get it checked out. And we can't really give you a determining answer since every cars camber/toe is different after lowering, just get an alignment read out.

you sure it's not your buttdyno?
get an alignment done and see if the geometry of the suspension is fuwk
any accidents? damn that car is only 2 years old
the question about the camber kit is a no..1.5 inch you should be just fine.
