Default Cam Seal Replacement Install Guide

Well most people know that the stock older version of the exhaust cam seal on our motors sucks *** and are a common cause of leakin oil. My car had this problem and to solve it, I ordered a Golden Eagle cam seal from motormatrix.com in the best buy forum and consequently wrote up an install guide for it to help anybody else who may be interested in doing this.

I know that team-integra has an article up about this... but I think mine has better pics. hehe... and its on a B18B1 motor!

I thought this one would be good for the archives as well.... here ya go guys.. hope u find it helpful.

Just go to the "DIY" section of my site.

PS feel free to make any comments or suggestions.

I just coat the sucker with liquid gasket and never have any problems. Although your right the older kinds do kinda suck. The newer ones, like what come in the B20 are much beefier.

I think you should have coated the entire seal all the way around w/ hondabond. Otherwise looks good.

I got the newer OEM seal which is platic w/ o-rings on it instead of fully rubber w/o o-rings.

I was thinkin about it... but the OEM one i had in there didnt have any on it. so i didnt... but if it does leak.. i'll crack it open again and redo it. But honestly, the rubber seals are so much bigger than the nonexistant stock ones that i'm not too worried about it. Plus i applied some hondabond to the inside area around the cam seal just not so much in the middle.
